Where did the year go?

I know everyone talks about the busyness of the holidays, but being the crafter that I am, the end of the year is INSANE for me.

First, you have Thanksgiving. Then V's birthday.  Then start getting ready for Christmas. Throw in not one, not two, but THREE craft shows (one being huge and an hour and a half away) and my sanity is shot.

Every year at the point when the shows are over, I crash.  Literally.  My body says STOP and I get all the sickness.  Everything that everyone had for a month comes upon me and I turn into a zombie for a week. Necessary evil though because all the shows this fall went to Christmas gifts.  I literally paid for every single gift given to my family and extended family with money I made from shows.

I know, I know....Eric helped purchase the supplies to make my wares, BUT I crafted, sewed, and peddled the wares on my own.  (Well, my friend Holli did help me when I was in Missouri. Can't forget that!  It isn't every day you have a friend volunteer her time and house to help you out!)

It felt great.  I stay home, help to raise the kids, keep the house clean (yeah, right), am a transporter of kids to and from, but I always feel bad about finances. Being able to give back to the family in a monetary way feels AWESOME.

So, here is to the end of the year.

I wish all of you a happy SAFE New Years Eve tomorrow.  I hope you get to spend it the way you want, whether it be hanging out with your loved ones, trying to convince the 8 year old that he in fact does NOT have to stay up until midnight (Oye. Aidan wants to this year), partying it up in the clubs (aka the good ole days) , or just sleeping (how I spent the first NYE with Aidan. Eric and I were passed out at 10pm!)

One last thing....resolutions...I know people do the "I am going to lose weight, exercise more!  blah blah blah."

My resolution...I don't really have one for this year.

I plan to work more (I have an online job) and I plan to take more me time.  I realize that I get very cranky without a down time in my day.  Maybe the gym? Maybe reading? Maybe a movie?  Who knows.  All I know is this mom needs some ME time after 8 years.

What about you?  How was your holiday season?  Did you survive? Resolutions....do you have any?

See you next year!  (And I know...this is a day early.  I am starting the ME time before the year starts!  RULE BREAKER!!)
